South Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report – June 3rd, 2016

Little Juniata River (Huntingdon County) — As of May 21, TCO Fly Shop reported great color and heavy sulphur hatches in 50-degree water temperatures. Nymphing was consistent during daytime hours. The surface bite was typically in the evening. Besides sulphurs (14-16), blue-winged olives (18-22), tan caddis (14-16) and midges (20-24) were hatching.

Susquehanna River — Koinonia Guide Service reported May 21 nice numbers of smallmouth bass releases, including three angler-award size fish up to 21 inches. Stickbaits and topwater presentations were effective. Channel catfish were hitting in nice numbers and running up to 27 and 31 inches in length and 11 pounds.

Holman Lake (Perry County) — Trout and panfish were reported at this Little Buffalo State Park impoundment through mid-May.
