A jig and fathead minnow combo is working for walleyes in the Hudson area of the St. Croix River in 12 to 15 feet. Bass are hitting spinnerbaits in 2 to 5 feet on Demontreville Lake, Big Marine Lake, and White Bear Lake. Northern pike also can be had with spinnerbaits on the weedlines of Powers Lake, Lake Owasso, and Demontreville. Crappies and sunfish have moved to the 6- to 10-foot weeds on Centerville Lake, Silver Lake, Bald Eagle Lake, and White Bear.

Look for sunfish and crappies in the reeds, on the north side of the island, and below the cemetery on the south end in 4 to 10 feet. Walleyes remain active in 14 to 20 feet during the day and up shallower at night off Harm’s Point, Kegg’s Reef, and North Reef; jigs and minnows are turning the most fish. Bass seem to be hitting everywhere.
