Northeast Pennsylvania Fish Report – January 1st, 2016

Lake Wallenpaupack (Pike County) — Smallmouth bass and perch were hitting in 20 to 25 feet of water as of Dec. 16, with live baits and drop-shot-rigged plastic worms productive. Striped bass were running small – about 19 to 21 inches – but a few were reported on stickbaits. 

Lackawanna Lake (Lackawanna County) — This state park impoundment was yielding crappies and bluegills on live grubs, and a couple of largemouth bass on crankbaits as of Dec. 16. 

Harvey’s Lake (Luzerne County) — Smallmouth bass were hitting on crankbaits and dropshot rigs through Dec. 16. Fish were in deeper water.

Delaware River — Walleyes were active in recent weeks, and anglers reported nice catches trolling crankbaits or by jigging tubes and soft plastics or hair jigs. 

Duck Harbor (Wayne County) — Walleyes were reported in recent weeks.

Prompton Dam (Wayne County) —Walleyes were reported in recent weeks.
