Deer poaching case results in 13 charges

Whiteside County CPO Ron Palumbo and a CPO trainee recently wrapped up a lengthy investigation that covered three counties and resulted in 13 charges filed in Knox County.

As a result of the arrests, the heads of six bucks, 292 pounds of boned out venison, one landowner deer permit and one Hoyt Compound bow were seized.

According to DNR, the venison will be donated to Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger.
