Metro Area Fishing Report -September 25th, 2015
Walleyes are hitting fatheads on the St. Croix River in 25 feet and along the 10- to 15-foot weedlines on Clear Lake. Look for sunfish in 10 feet on Powers Lake or Turtle Lake and sucker minnows are turning muskies on the weedlines of Lake Owasso and Jarvis Lake. Sucker minnows also are producing largemouth bass on the boat launch dock of Demontreville Lake and smallmouths are being taken on plastics along the shoreline of the St. Croix.
Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle
Look for sunfish in 6 to 8 feet on Lake Riley and Lake Sarah, while plastics are producing bass on the weedlines of Lake Bavaria and Lake Auburn. Trolling spoons or crankbaits in 8 to 10 feet on Auburn and Piersons Lake has produced pike and archery hunters have had minimal success.

Topwater baits and bucktails have provided good muskie action on the weedlines or tops of North Reef, Center Reef, and Reinkie’s Reef. A jig and minnow is turning a few walleyes during the evening on the reefs in 9 to 14 feet and bass continue to hit plastics on the 10- to 14-foot weedlines on Cemetery Reef and Pillsbury Reef.
