Lake George fishing remained solid for both lake trout (remember the 23-inch size minimum) and smallmouth bass. Smallmouths were as deep as 35 feet but also found in the shallows, particularly in the evening.
On Saratoga Lake, bass (largemouth) fishing was solid, as evidenced by the weigh-ins at Saratoga Tackle and Archery’s weekly Tuesday night bass tournaments. Find the weeds and you’ll likely find some fish.
Area trout streams like the Battenkill and Mettawee might be worth a look early in the morning or late in the evening; keep a close eye on water temps, however.
