Northeast Pennsylvania Fish Report – May 22nd, 2015

Lake Carey (Wyoming County) — Boaters were catching crappies through early May.

Ford’s Lake (Lackawanna County) — Crappies were reported through early May.

West Branch Delaware River, Delaware River (Wayne County) — Brown and rainbow trout were reported on spinners, live bait and flies.  Shad anglers were doing well on shad darts, with fish up to Narrowsburg by early May.

Lake Wallenpaupack, West Branch Wallenpaupack Creek (Pike County) — Ray’s Guide Service reported an excellent striped bass bite through May 10, with fish up to 26 inches taking stickbaits and umbrella rigs. Walleyes up to 24 and 26 inches were hitting plugs. Trout, perch and crappies were reported in the West Branch of Wallenpaupack Creek.

Prompton Dam (Wayne County) — This Prompton State Park impoundment was yielding crappies and walleyes through May 10, with the walleyes hitting jigs and drop-shot rubber worms.

Lackawanna Lake (Lackawanna County) — Numbers of crappies, bluegills, and perch were reported through May 9. 

Frances Slocum Lake (Luzerne County) — Crappies and perch were hitting mealworms, grubs and live minnows. 

Harvey’s Lake (Luzerne County) — Large brown trout were reported by anglers trolling small stickbaits.
