Southwest Pennsylvania Fishing Report – May 8th, 2015

High Point Lake (Somerset County) — The crappie bite had turned on by the end of April and northern pike and bass also were reported.

Lake Somerset (Somerset County) — Crappies and yellow perch were reported through late April.

Northmoreland, Donegal, Mam­moth, upper and lower Twin lakes (Westmoreland County) — Nice opening day catches of trout were reported. 

Linn Run, Blackleggs, Loyalhanna creeks (Westmoreland County) — Numbers of trout were reported on opening day. 

Buffalo Creek (Armstrong County) — Crowds turned out for opening day, and anglers reported nice catches of fish.

Hulings, Patterson runs (Armstrong County) — These were less crowded on opening day, but giving up nice catches of trout.

Brady’s Run Lake, Raccoon Lake (Beaver County) — Anglers were catching nice trout on crawlers, like butter and red worms. 

Howell’s Run, Duman Lake, Lake Rowena, North Branch Blacklick Creek (Cambria County) — Numbers of opening day anglers reported nice trout.
