Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Fishing Report – April 30th, 2015

Recently stocked trout waters include:

Broome County: Arctic Lake, Greenwood Lake, Nanticoke 7a, Nanticoke Lake, Oquaga Creek, Palmers Pond, Patterson Pond (#1), Dudley Creek, Nanticoke Creek, East Branch Nanticoke Creek, and Chenango Lake.

Cayuga County: North Brook, Owasco Inlet, Salmon Creek and Fall Creek.

Chenango County: Genegantslet Creek and the Otselic River.

Cortland County: Otselic River.
Madison County: Beaver Creek, Canaseraga Creek, Canastota Creek, Chenango River, Chittenango Creek, Cowaselon Creek, Limestone Creek, Old Chenango Canal, Oneida Creek, Otselic River, Payne Brook, Sangerfield River and Stone Mill Brook.

Onondaga County: Green Lake, Furnace Brook, Spafford Creek, Limestone Creek, Onondaga Creek, West Branch Onondaga Creek, Tannery Creek, Ninemile Creek, Butternut Creek, Fabius Brook, Pools Brook, Carpenters Brook, Skaneateles Creek and Geddes Brook.

Tioga County: Cayuta Creek, Catatonk Creek, East Branch of Owego Creek, Owego Creek, and West Branch of Owego Creek.

Steuben County: Canaseraga Creek, Canisteo River, Bennett Creek, Post Creek, Cohocton River and Meads Creek.
Chemung County: Eldridge Lake, Park Station Pond, Post Creek, Sing Sing Creek, Newton Creek, Cayuta Creek and Wyncoop Creek.

Schuyler County: Cayuta Creek. 

Seneca County: Canoga Creek.

Yates County: Keuka Lake Outlet. 

Tompkins County: Virgil Creek, Trib 4 of Enfield Creek, Enfield Creek, Buttermilk Creek, Salmon Creek, Fall Creek and Sixmile Creek.

Cayuga Lake: Trolling stick baits on the south end of the lake usually works for brown trout and Atlantic salmon this time of year. A few perch were being taken on the north end. 

Seneca Lake: Yellow perch were being taken in very deep water (80 feet) and also shallower in 30 feet. 

Canandaigua and Keuka lakes: The lakes are finally ice-free but watch out for debris if venturing out. 

Otisco and Owasco lakes: The waters finally became ice-free last week but there is a lot of debris floating around.

Skaneateles Lake: The DEC launch is now open. Anglers were getting yellow perch on the south end on small minnows.

Susquehanna, Chenango, Tioughnioga and Unadilla rivers: High water, so no reports.
