Lake Ontario: Brown trout were being caught by anglers trolling near shore or along mudlines. Stick baits (minnow imitating plugs) usually work well for the browns.
Oneida Lake: There is still some ice floating around on the lake so use caution if venturing out.
Oswego River: Nothing to report except high flows.
Salmon River: Look for steelhead holding in the slower water areas out of the direct current.
Sodus and Irondequoit bays: This is usually a good time for black crappie and yellow perch fishing. No word on bullhead yet.
