Northeast Pennsylvania Fish Report – March 27th, 2015

Briar Creek Lake (Columbia County)  — Some nice crappies were reported, but the bite was slow.

Lake Jean (Luzerne County) — Nice perch were reported, along with largemouth bass for anglers fishing large shiners. 

Shohola Lake (Pike County) — Ice fishing continued through mid-March, with nice catches of bass and panfish. 

Lake Wallenpaupack (Pike County) — Bass, pickerel, bluegills, and perch were reported, with waxworms and minnows on tipups productive. 

Mauch Chunk Lake (Carbon County) — Anglers were icing nice-size bluegills and crappies as well as perch up to 14 inches, on ice jigs tipped with waxworms or butterworms. Pickerel and bass were hitting jigs or tipups, although most were sub-legal in size. 

Beltzville Lake (Carbon County) — The area near Preachers Camp access area was yielding nice-size pickerel. The cove areas near Pine Run and the beach were yielding bluegills and bass. 

Prompton Dam (Wayne County) — Crappies and perch were reported through mid-March, with waxworm-tipped jigs effective just before dark
