Southwest Ohio FIshing Report – February 27th, 2015

Rocky Fork Lake (Highland County) – This lake is ice covered in many spots, but still likely not thick enough to hold anglers. The better bet is to fish the docks near the restaurant for bluegills and crappies. Crappies up to 12 inches have been reported, as have been a few white bass. The best setup has been any jig and live bait combination. Also try waxworms under a bobber or mousies, anglers report.

CJ Brown Reservoir (Clark County) – The safest spot to try your luck fishing through the ice is near the marina, anglers are reporting. Ice thickness varies on other parts of the lake. Always fish in pairs. Successful anglers are catching a few walleyes, according to reports. Try small spoons like Swedish Pimples tipped with a minnow. A jig and minnow combination should entice panfish to bite, too.
