Dillon Lake (Muskingum County) – When the weather has cooperated, anglers are catching a few saugeyes and crappies below the spillway at Dillon, reports Bob Mathie at Bob’s Outdoor Supply. Focus your efforts on the spillway when it is running clear. Crappies should bite well on jig and minnow combinations or jigging Rapalas.

Piedmont Lake (Belmont County) – Find the old roadbeds on the lake for the best saugeye bite, locals report. There is anywhere from six to eight inches of ice on the lake. A very few anglers are managing to catch ‘eyes, while many more are catching crappies and catfish through the ice. Try Swedish Pimples or other types of ice spoons tipped with live bait for the best results.
