Central Illinois Fishing Report – February 20th, 2015

Powerton Lake: Channel catfish and blue catfish have been biting on baby shad and cut baits. Hybrid striped bass are being caught on minnows. Anglers are not having much luck with white bass or stripers. Largemouth bass hitting spinners. Bluegills good on worms.

Newton Lake: Bass biting has picked up near the ash pond. Bluegills picking up quite rapidly. Crappies are good. Catfish are biting on night crawlers.

Spring Lake: Muskie fishing has been fair to good. Crappies are biting on minnows in 8 to 10 feet of water.

Evergreen Lake: Crappies and bluegills good in about 8 feet of water. Crappies best on minnows. Bluegills best on worms.
