Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Fishing Report – January 9th, 2015

Cayuga Lake: Anglers getting out on the lake are getting a mix of brown trout and Atlantic salmon trolling spoons or stick baits 20 to 40 feet down. Just a reminder that Finger Lakes Tributary fishing closed Dec 31.

Seneca Lake: Anglers fishing from shore at Sampson State Park were getting yellow perch and lake trout. Long casts might be needed to reach the fish.

Canandaigua Lake: No report.

Keuka Lake: Not enough fishing going on now to generate a report.

Owasco Lake: Limited options now given the weather. No safe ice to report.

Skaneateles Lake: The DEC launch is closed for the season.

Susquehanna, Chenango, Tioughnioga and Unadilla rivers: Walleye fishing can be good this time of year for anglers willing to brave the weather.

Whitney Point Reservoir: Awaiting ice.
