Walleyes and sauger are being caught in boats on the Mississippi River; jigs tipped with plastics or minnows are working during the day in 18 to 20 feet or during low-light periods in 10 to 12 feet. Ice fishing reports have been limited in the backwater areas, but should improve now that the cold returned and better ice is again forming.

Small boats are being used below the various dams on the Mississippi River with some walleye success reported.
