Lake St. Clair
Bass fishing has been good on Lake St. Clair. Anglers casting or drifting nightcrawlers are taking good numbers of fish all over the lake. Fair numbers of walleyes have been caught at the dumping grounds in American water and in front of the Grosse Point Yacht Club.

Fishing pressure has been light in Livingston County, but bluegills are hitting on Chemung and Kent lakes. Bass and pike fishing is improving on Island, Woodland, Kensington, Chemung, and Crooked lakes. Early goose season was slow.

Luna Pier Area
Perch fishing has been good on Lake Erie. Good action has been reported by anglers fishing shiners in 8 to 12 feet of water near Turtle Island and near the dumping grounds. The early goose season was good.

Perch fishing has been good on Lake Michigan. Anglers drifting shiners in 30 to 34 feet of water off the sand dunes are catching good numbers of fish. A few salmon have been caught in the Black River, and salmon, steelhead, and lake trout are hitting spoons, crankbaits, and fresh spawn fished off the piers. Farther out on Lake Michigan, anglers are picking up steelhead, lakers, and 2- and 3-year-old salmon in 130 to 140 feet of water. Bluegills and crappies are keeping anglers busy on Lake Eleven and Great Bear Lake. Goose hunting has been pretty good in the crop fields. Deer numbers are in good shape in Allegan and Van Buren counties.

Perch fishing has been good on Gilard Lake. Anglers fishing with minnows and wigglers in 28 to 30 feet of water report a good bite. Trout fishing has been good on Carey Lake. Crappie minnows have produced the best results.
