Irish Hills Area
Bluegills are starting to nest in the shallows on most inland lakes in Jackson County. Bass fishing has been good on Wamplers and Devils lakes.

Jiggers and hand-liners are still catching good numbers of walleyes in the Detroit River. The waters in front of Shane Park and Joe Louis Arena have been the hot spots. There are a lot of smallmouth bass and silver bass in the river, too, along with some white perch.

Luna Pier Area
Walleye fishing has been very good in the western basin of Lake Erie. Anglers trolling crawler harnesses and small spoons report a good bite in 13 feet of water in front of the Harbour Club.

Bluegills are starting to move into the shallows on most inland lakes in Cass County. Anglers fishing on Eagle, Juno, and Little and Big Corey lakes all report a good bite. Bass fishing has been good, too, especially on Diamond, Dewey, and Donnell lakes. Perch fishing has been fair on Lake Michigan.

Bluegill fishing has been good on Duck, Muskrat, and Eagle lakes. Males are making nets. Black gnats and flies are producing good results. Bass fishing has been good on Clear, Scott, and Pullman lakes. Fair numbers of perch are hitting in Lake Michigan at South Haven in 50 feet of water.

Bluegills are making beds in Kalamazoo County. Hot spots have been North, Little Paw Paw, Pleasant, Cranberry, Fish, and Sugarloaf lakes. Red worms and black gnats tipped with wax worms or spikes are working well. A couple of anglers found some nice perch on Gull Lake near the island. Pike anglers are catching fish on Gun, Scott, Long, and Wolf lakes.
