Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Fishing Report – February 7th, 2014

Cayuga Lake: There was ice forming on the north end but no reports of ice thickness.

Seneca Lake: Some brown trout and Atlantic salmon were being taken trolling stickbaits or streamers near the surface.

Canandaigua Lake: Nothing to report.

Keuka Lake: There were anglers fishing the north end, near Penn Yan, but no reports of ice thickness.

Owasco Lake: Anglers were fishing the south end and getting some northern pike and panfish.

Otisco Lake: Safe ice was being reported on the north end and anglers were catching bluegills and pumpkinseeds.

Skaneateles Lake: The north and south ends have ice forming but no reports of any safe ice as of last week.

Susquehanna, Chenango, Tioughnioga and Unadilla rivers: Nothing to report, except that locals are on some of the popular coves offering up safe ice.

Whitney Point Reservoir: Fishing has been slow but anglers are getting some walleye and crappie. The Almost Annual Crappie Derby was rescheduled from Jan. 25 to Feb. 8 and ice conditions were improving.
