Pheasants group to meet in Columbus in late January

Steve PollickIf ring-necked pheasants and bobwhite quail and conserving the land they live on are your bag, mark your calendar for Jan. 24 to 26 for the annual Ohio statewide meeting of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.

The meeting is set for the DoubleTree hotel, 175 Hutchinson Ave., Columbus, which is just east of off the U.S. 23 at the I-270 interchange at Worthington.  Programs get under way with hospitality on the evening of the 24th, with morning business sessions on the 25th focused on the status of the federal farm bill, planning a western hunt, youth programs, and status of ringnecks.

Afternoon sessions are scheduled to include predator and prey talk, quail focus areas, dog training, and more. A dinner and awards program is set for the evening. The program is open to the public, and PF/QF members are encouraged to bring potential members. Your registration information should include your chapter name, number of individuals attending the meeting only ($35), dinner only ($450, or both events at $75 each.
