REPORTS REMAINING FROM OCTOBER District 10 — Wautoma area Warden Mark Schraufnagel, of Clintonville, assisted Winnebago County wardens with the execution of a search warrant involving a suspect who shined and shot a large buck at night. Several items, including a .270 rifle, were collected as evidence. Warden Schraufnagel investigated an archery deer loan/borrow case.

DOOR PENINSULA AND KEWAUNEE AREA Perch fishermen have been having some decent action in Little Sturgeon and Riley’s Bay and some limited action in Sawyer Harbor. Medium and large lake shiners under tip-ups have been working the best. Also, jigging with minnows, wax worms, and Gulp has been another good way to entice those fish.

ASHLAND AREA Chequamegon Bay has a lot of ice for so early in the season, but thickness varies. On the Ashland side, there are reports of thickness from 10 inches by the channel to 16 inches near the Ashland coal dock. The Washburn side had about 5 inches by the “S” curve and coal dock.
