Lake Ontario: Steelhead and brown trout were still being taken in the tributaries when weather conditions permit.
Oneida Lake: With the snow and cold of late there was no new information to report.
Oswego River: High flows recently made shore fishing difficult. Anglers in drift boats were at last report still enjoying good action for steelhead and a few brown trout. Good baits are egg sacs (pink, white or chartreuse mesh), egg-imitating flies and plastics, and trout beads.
Salmon River: The area has received significant lake effect snow lately, making fishing more challenging. Check the weather report before heading this way. Steelhead fishing was slower, with most of the activity still in the upper river.
Irondequoit Bay: Some perch were reported, but not a lot of fishing happening now. Probably won’t be heading much until ice season.
