Northeast Minnesota Fishing Report – December 20th, 2013

DULUTH AREA

Chubs are turning walleyes in 10 feet in Duluth Harbor on Lake Superior. A few walleyes also are being caught at the narrows of Fish Lake in 10 to 12 feet. Most anglers are walking or using snowmobiles due to the deep snow and slush on all lakes.

PINE CITY AREA

Ice depths vary from six to 11 inches so you need to know where you’re going and choose travel options accordingly. Crappies and sunfish are being pulled from Cross Lake on the 18- to 20-foot structure and basin areas. Pike seem to be hitting sucker and shiner minnows on all lakes, while Rush Lake is giving up perch and walleyes during the evening hours.
