Tulpehocken Creek (Berks County) — Water was off-color and 56 degrees and levels were dropping as of Oct. 25. Fishing was expected to pick up. The midday trout bite was a good time to find fish rising to caddis and midges. Nymphing also was effective, according to TCO Fly Shop. Hatches included Tan Caddis (18-22), Blue-Winged Olives (20-24), and Midges (18-24).
Lake Ontelaunee (Berks County) — Very nice catches of panfish were reported at the Route 73 Quarry Hole. Jigs and soft plastic grubs were the ticket.
