Southwest Minnesota Fishing Report – October 25th, 2013

ORTONVILLE AREA

Walleye action has picked up along the shorelines on the south half of Big Stone Lake at night with crankbaits or slip bobbers and minnows. Corn is coming out, which seems to have helped pheasant hunters. Duck hunters also have commented they’re seeing new ducks move into the area.

WILLMAR AREA

A jig and minnow is producing a few walleyes at Green Lake in 20 to 30 feet or at Eagle Lake and Diamond Lake in 10 to 20 feet. Anglers fishing near the culvert at Willmar/Foot Lake have started catching crappies. Pheasant reports remain limited and waterfowl hunters are shooting more geese than ducks.
