Southwest Minnesota Fishing Report – October 11th, 2013


Sunfish are in six feet on Madison Lake and 10 to 12 feet at Lake Washington. Minnows are producing a few walleyes on Washington in 10 to 12 feet and in the deeper holes or pockets on the Minnesota River.

Perch are hitting in the Schmidt’s Landing and Kraemer’s Landing areas of Big Stone Lake in 10 to 12 feet. Walleye action has improved on Big Stone during the evening off the docks on the south end with a jig and minnow. Artichoke Lake is giving up crappies and walleyes in less than six feet. Duck hunters are shooting a few, but there hasn’t been many new ducks moving into the area.

Minnows and crawlers are turning walleyes in 10 to 15 feet or 25 to 35 feet at Green Lake. Minnows have been the best bet for walleyes at Diamond Lake and Eagle Lake in 10 to 20 feet as well. Waterfowl hunters are shooting a lot of geese along with a few wood ducks and mallards.
