North East Minnesota Fishing Report – September 20th, 2013

 

DULUTH AREA

Island Lake continues to produce walleyes in 10 to 12 feet, mainly with chubs. Crappies are hitting minnows at Fish Lake over 15 feet and muskie reports have improved on Island and the St. Louis River with large sucker minnows. Bear and deer hunters each registered a handful of animals over the past week.

LAKE KABETOGAMA

A jig and minnow is producing walleyes in eight to 12 feet on top of the reefs during low-light periods. Minnows also are turning walleyes off the reefs and deep breaks in 28 to 32 feet. Anglers trolling crankbaits in 28 to 34 feet are picking off walleyes, northern pike, and sauger.
