Thousand Islands Fishing Report – August 22nd, 2013

St. Lawrence River: Bass are starting to move into shallower water at around 25 feet. Crayfish have been the hot bait. Northern pike continue to cooperate in weedy areas for anglers using minnows.

Black Lake: Richard at Chapman’s Sports in Hammond (315-324-5265) reports fishing action has slowed slightly, but bluegills should turn on with cooler weather settling in. Smallmouth and largemouth bass can be had on crankbaits and a variety of topwater lures. Pike and walleye reports were few and far between.
