Southwest Minnesota Fishing Report – August 16th, 2013
You’ll find sunfish on Hall Lake, Budd Lake, and Lake Sissiton in three to six feet. The rock piles on Hall and Budd are holding crappies in six to 10 feet. Hall and Budd are giving up walleyes with jigs in eight to 12 feet and catfish are hitting at night on the shores of Hall and Budd.

Perch are hitting at a torrid pace on Manhattan Reef or Mallard Point in 10 to 12 feet at Big Stone Lake. Catfish action has been strong on the Minnesota River with stinkbaits. On Lake Traverse, bluegills are biting on the 10-foot rock piles.

Sunfish are hitting on the Glenwood and Starbuck ends of Lake in 12 feet. Spinners and crawlers are producing a few walleyes on the points of Minnewaska during low-light periods.
Minnewaska Bait and Tackle
Eight- to 12-foot weedlines of lakes Diamond, Eagle, Andrew, Florida, and Games are producing sunfish. Look to the deep weedlines and milfoil patches of Green Lake for crappies and sunfish. Live bait will produce walleyes on Green in 25 to 35 feet.
