Capital District Fishing Report – June 28th, 2013

Lake George: Drop-shotting, jerkbaits or swimbaits should work for bass, but you might have to search a bit for the post-spawn fish. Some will be shallow, others suspended. Lakers were taken at 100 feet, and the big lake yielded a 7-pound landlocked salmon recently. Look for the salmon 30 feet down over 80 feet of water.

Trout streams: Rivers like the Mettawaee and Battenkill have benefitted from the heavy rains, with good flows and water temps setting the stage for some fine fishing.

Saratoga Lake: Tim Blodgett of Saratoga Tackle and Archery says bass are in post-spawn locales now, which means anglers should fish outside the shallows in deeper water.
