Northeast Minnesota Fishing Report – April 5th, 2013


Kamloops continue to be caught with Looper Bugs and waxworms under a float or crawlers on the bottom near the French and Sucker rivers on the north shore of Lake Superior. Crappie action has been best during the evening hours at Fish Lake in 13 feet and Island Lake in 18 to 20 feet.

With the lake trout season closed, fishing pressure has been minimal. A few anglers continue to fish the border lakes for walleyes with some success. The best reports are coming off South Fowl Lake in six to eight feet and Lake Saganaga in 20 to 25 feet.
