Canoe Creek Lake (Blair County) Anglers were icing numbers of black crappies, largemouth bass, chain pickerel and yellow perch through early February. A trout stocking was slated for Feb. 11. Big Fishing Creek (Clinton County) Water was in the 40s and high and off-color and trout were in the deeper holding pools as of Feb. 12. A good streamer bite was reported; micro-nymphs on light tippet also were productive. Hatches included black midges (24), cream midges (24), and blue-winged olives (20-24). North Park Lake (Allegheny County) A trout stocking was slated for Feb. 13 on this newly-restored county park impoundment. Lake Erie steelhead streams Spates of mild weather in between cold snaps made for decent steelheading in the western tributaries. The lower stretches of Walnut and Elk creeks were yielding nice fish as conditions allowed. Recent stockings were performed in Walnut Creek, Crooked Creek, East Branch of Conneaut Creek, Mill Creek and Four Mile Creek.
