Southern District highlights Deer shot over bait (Orange County) On Oct. 8, ECO Aaron Gordon received a call from an individual who stated he was out stacking firewood and heard a single rifle shot in the woods near his house. The fifth annual Great Sacandaga Walleye Challenge ice fishing derby attracted scores of anglers last month, and a 3.5-pounder won the event at Great Sacandaga Lake.
