Maumee River (Wood County)

The Maumee doesn’t get much fishing pressure through the winter. But, some anglers do have success fishing for steelhead here, particularly at the Grand Rapids dam. Steelhead will sometimes hit in-line spinnerbaits in chartreuse, pink or orange. Shallow diving crankbaits can also be productive.

Beaver Creek Reservoir (Seneca County)

Shoreline anglers have been catching crappies at this 110-acre upground in Clyde. Crappies in the 7- to 10-inch range have been caught by anglers fishing for walleyes. Try jerkbaits or crankbaits retrieved slowly at 10 to 15 feet. This reservoir also has a decent population of yellow perch. Bluegills are also present, which gives Beaver Creek potential for ice fishing.
