Southwestern Minnesota Fishing Report – November 29th, 2012

Most lakes are ice-covered, with the exception of a few open pockets on the bigger lakes or deep holes. A few anglers have been on three inches of ice at Lake Emily in search of walleyes with limited success. Look to lakes Reno and Minnewaska to be safe for foot travel this weekend.

The shallow, prairie lakes have up to three inches of ice, while most bigger lakes still had a lot of open water early this week. A few people have been walking on these shallow lakes, but the bite has been slow and caution is advised, especially if it doesn’t get colder this week.
