Donegal Lake (Somerset County)
Numbers of trout were reported on maggots and power bait. Some bluegills also were reported.
Lower Twin Lake (Westmoreland County)
Maggots, wax worms, and Powerbait were taking recently-stocked trout through the end of October, while bass were hitting on tubes and crankbaits.
Youghiogheny River/Reservoir (Fayette County)
Crappies were hitting on small minnows on the lake. A couple of walleyes were also caught in recent weeks. The river was yielding trout, but the bite was slow. Numbers of rock bass were reported in the outflow.
Allegheny River (Allegheny County)
Smallmouth bass were hitting around the Highland Park Dam, and falling temperatures were spurring the walleye bite, with minnows, shiners and tubes the tickets.
Cross Creek Lake (Washington County)
Crappies were becoming active around dusk, with minnows the best bet.
Yellow Creek Lake (Indiana County)
Bass and northern pike were reported on minnows through mid- to late October. Crappies and perch also were hitting.
