Little Juniata River (Huntingdon County)

Low, clear normal fall conditions were reported as of Oct. 27. October Caddis were hatching, making for decent dry-fly fishing. Slate drakes also were hatching. TCO Fly Shop recommended dry dropper techniques with Slate Drake or caddis dries and basic fall nymphs, such as Green Weenies, Pheasant Tails and Zebra Midges. Other patterns were Green Weenies (12-14), Slate Drake Dun and Nymph (12), Green Caddis Larva (14-18), and October Caddis (10).

Raystown Lake (Huntingdon County)

Striped bass were reported by anglers trolling live bait or by casting spoons into schools of baitfish in recent weeks. Largemouth and smallmouth bass were reported on live bait as well as Carolina-rigged lizards and soft plastic jerk baits. Channel catfish were hitting in the shallow backwater areas on cut bait.
