Alabama’s 12th Annual Youth Dove Hunts have been scheduled for 2012. North Zone hunts begin September 8, and South Zone hunts begin September 22. Hunt schedules and registration information is available here. Although the hunts are free, pre-registration is necessary. Two youth dove hunts are also scheduled at the Forever Wild M. Barnett Lawley Forever Wild Field Trial Area in Hale County. The hunt dates are September 8 and September 15. To register for these hunts, email the ADCNR State Lands Division at DCNR.FWFTA@dcnr.alabama.gov. If you do not have email, register by calling 334-624-9952. Alabama’s youth dove hunting events are held in open fields and staffed by ADCNR personnel, which encourages a safe, secure environment for both parents and participants. The program also makes use of private lands and fields opened for use by community members, thus fostering good relationships between hunters and private landowners.
