DULUTH AREA

Crawlers and minnows are producing walleyes in 12 to 15 feet of water and buzzbaits are triggering smallmouth bass on the shallow structure at Island Lake. Minnows also are turning walleyes in 15 feet at Whiteface Lake and Boulder Lake. Work the 10-foot weed edge on Fish Lake for bluegills and six feet at Rice Lake with spoons or sucker minnows for northern pike. Coho and lake trout action remains strong north of Duluth on Lake Superior about 50 to 70 feet down.

GRAND MARAIS AREA

Walleyes are hitting leeches in 14 to 25 feet and smallmouth bass in eight to 14 feet at Devil Track Lake. On Lake Saganaga, walleyes are hitting minnows during the day in 18 to 25 feet and during low-light periods in eight to 15 feet. Walleyes are taking a jig and minnow in 20 to 25 feet as are smallmouth bass in 10 to 15 feet at Hungry Jack Lake. Hit Ball Club Lake in 12 to 20 feet with crawlers for walleyes. Pike can be had with suckers or spoons in six to eight feet on Northern Lights Lake or 12 to 15 feet at East Twin Lake.
