The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will host a special class that will introduce interested sportsmen to basic rifle shooting on September 22 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The class will touch on firearm safety, range etiquette and techniques for loading and shooting a .22 caliber rifle.
The short three-hour introduction will consist of a 60 minute lecture and two hours of range time. Participants will practice shooting targets using four different positions and shooting silhouettes at different distances. Procedures for cleaning and storing firearms will also be discussed.
The class will be held at the Clark County Shooting Complex Education Center. Seating is limited and each person who is shooting must have a reservation, sorry no walk-ins. The class is free of charge and no age limit applies, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
