Southeast Minnesota Fishing Report – July 20th, 2012

FARIBAULT AREA

Sunfish are hitting in 12 to 18 feet at French Lake, on Cottonwood Bar at Lake Mazaska, in 20 feet on Kelley Dudley Lake, and in 10 to 14 feet on Cedar Lake. Bass and northern pike remain active in the weeds of Mazaska and Cedar, while muskie anglers on French continue to report more follows than bites.

RED WING AREA

Crankbaits or nightcrawlers are turning walleyes on the six- to 10-foot rocks at the Head of the Lakes, Frontenac area, and Baypoint area of Lake Pepin. The backwaters and channels of the Mississippi River are worth hitting for panfish, bass and pike.
