$10,000 Duck and Goose Calling Championship coming to Game Fair 2012

Ron HustvedtDuck and goose callers of all calibers are getting ready for the first ever Game Fair $10,000 Duck and Goose Calling Championship held August 18 and 19 in Ramsey, Minnesota.

The allure of fame and glory in the calling world is motivation enough for many but the shot at over $10,000 in payouts, prizes and awards doesn’t hurt either.

Top prize in each the open duck calling contest and open goose calling contest is a whopping $1,500 not to mention a shiny trophy and prizes. That payout makes this one of the premiere calling contests in the country.

Add to that the fact that all entry fees are going to Minnesota Ducks Unlimited to use the funds to benefit waterfowl and there’s not a reason for any serious caller to miss this contest.

The top five callers in each of four divisions will walk away with prizes and awards. Second place in the open calling contests is $750 while third place is $250 based on a field of 20 or more entries.

Women duck and goose callers are also in store for a special opportunity with a top prize of $500 for the best woman duck caller and best woman goose caller. Most calling contests for women only feature a trophy or prizes but the Game Fair contest is all about honoring one of the fastest growing population of waterfowlers.

Game Fair has always been a great place for kids and that’s true with the calling contest as well. The youth duck and goose calling divisions feature a trophy and prizes for the top five callers.

Fellow competitors often join forces to claim the payout and prizes in the two-person duck and goose calling contests. Former adversaries can quickly become friends when a top prize of $750 is on the line and $500 for the team who just misses that top mark. The third place team doesn’t have to hang their heads too low when they collect their $250 and each of the top five teams receives a trophy and prizes for their efforts.

For more details head to www.GameFair.com or just make plans to visit the fair over both weekends in August. Weekend one runs August 10 to 12 while weekend two is August 17 to 19. The calling contest is during the second weekend and your calling contest entry fee also includes admission to the Game Fair.

Bring the whole family including the dog because this is the original and largest pre-hunting, outdoors family event in the country.
