Santa Fe, N.M. (AP) – State officials open a sale next week for more than 6,000 deer, elk and javelina hunting licenses.
The Department of Game and Fish says the licenses, which went unsold during its annual drawing for big-game permits, will go on sale at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, on the department's web site, www.wildlife.state.nm.us .
Under state law, the sale is open only to New Mexico residents during the first 24 hours.
Game and Fish officials advise hunters to get an online customer account before the sale begins as popular licenses sell out in minutes, sometimes seconds.
