Adirondacks Fishing Report – June 1st, 2012

Fishing on the West Branch of the Ausable River has been outstanding this season, but there’s a bit of concern down the road with water temperatures given some of the 80-degree days and warm nights. Most of the region’s stocked trout waters were offering good fishing into early June at least.

On Lake Champlain, the regular bass season opens June 9 – a week ahead of the statewide opener. Right now, however, some anglers are taking advantage of the catch-and-release, artificials-only season to connect with smallmouths and some largemouths in the southern end of the lake.
