Youth bassers finish near the top
Five members of the Cincinnati Youth Bass Club finished among the top anglers in the Ohio Bass Federation Nation tournament, held May 6 at Indian Lake in Logan County, according to club advisor Angela Poling.
In the younger division, Nicholas Ball placed third, Brady Pfeiffer finished fourth, and Chase Fisher placed fifth.
In the older division, Alec Kochendorfer won the Big Bass Award and Justin Giese landed the Big Ugly Award.
A club held a tournament on Saturday, May 12, at Lake Lorelei in Brown County.
Members will also assist with the Greater Cincinnati Fishing Has No Boundaries Tournament at Cowan Lake on May 19-20. Helping the disabled anglers enjoy a day of fishing and fun is a 2012 community service project of the club.
The club is open to boys and girls between the ages of 11 to 18. A new Tadpole division, added this year, includes four members younger than 11, Poling said.
Cincinnati Youth Bass promotes the sport of bass angling and the proper use of natural resources. It provides members with an opportunity to become accomplished anglers and give back to their communities, an opportunity that they might not have otherwise.
