Routine Investigation Results in Wardens Seizing 107 Pot Plants in Morrisville
Vermont State Game Warden Jason Batchelder investigated a Fish and Wildlife complaint in April that involved visiting a house on Almeron Drive in Morrisville. While there, he could smell what he believed to be marijuana coming from a window of the house. Warden Batchelder and Officer Mike Glodgett and his K9 "Atos" from the Hardwick Police Department confirmed the odor of the illegal drugs, and a warrant was obtained to search the residence.
On April 27th at approximately 4:20 p.m. two Vermont State Game Wardens, a Hardwick Police Officer, his K9 and two Morrisville police officers executed the warrant. Once inside, an elaborate marijuana cultivation system was discovered along with 107 marijuana plants and more than 27 ounces of processed marijuana, all of which was seized as evidence.
Kenneth Ross, age 48, of Morrisville was charged with three felony counts, including
cultivation, possession and distribution of marijuana. His arraignment is set for June 20, 2012 to answer the charges.
