Cod fishing red hot; tribs still offering up good action – Central New York Report
Steelhead fishing continued to be good in the tributaries, with Maxwell producing some nice fish. Small egg sacs, single eggs, nymphs and small jigs fished under floats were all still working. Brown trout were being taken by anglers trolling stick baits near shore or casting from piers.
Anglers getting out in drift boats were getting into good numbers of steelhead and brown trout. Shore anglers were fishing along the river walk and behind the hotels. Steelhead and brown trout were hitting egg sacs, trout beads, jigs and stick baits.
There were steelhead being caught throughout the river. Most of the pressure was still taking place in the upper river from Pineville to the Lower Fly area.
Anglers getting out in boats were catching yellow perch on small minnows.
