California's DFG Holds Lottery for Wild Pig Hunt at San Antonio Valley Ranch

The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has opened a lottery for a no-fee wild pig hunt at San Antonio Valley Ranch. The application period closes April 27, and the hunt will be held on May 19-20.

Online applications can be found at To apply, applicants must possess a current hunting license and submit their application as a party of two. A total of six hunters – three teams of two – will be chosen. Junior hunters with a valid license are eligible to participate as the second member of a team.

Located in eastern Santa Clara County, the San Antonio Valley is east of Mount Hamilton and south of Livermore Valley. The area is only open for scheduled events such as this one, and all hunting will be on foot from designated access points.

Applicants are advised that this hunt is within a designated condor range and therefore certified “lead free” ammunition must be used.
