AR: Youth field day and hunt at the Cache River NWR

AUGUSTA – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Arkansas Game
and Fish Commission, RNT Calls and Delta Waterfowl are sponsoring a
mentored youth field day and hunt at the Cache River National
Wildlife Refuge. The hunt will be Dec. 16-18.

The hunt’s goal is to help create and inspire new duck hunters
through a mentored experience that taps into the state’s rich
waterfowling culture.

Individuals who have not turned 16 before Dec. 19 and have
successfully completed a hunter safety course are eligible for the
hunt. Youth also must complete an essay and have no previous
waterfowling hunting opportunities.

The completed essay and a copy of the youth’s hunter education card
must be submitted before Dec. 2.

The essay must be typed and answer the following questions:

• Explain how you could make a difference in conservation and
hunter recruitment in 300 words.

• In 300 words, explain to the essay committee why you should
receive this opportunity.

Those hunters that are successful will be notified before Dec. 7.
Selection will be based on the essay’s merit, without regard to
race, gender, color, or religion. All decisions made by the essay
committee are final. Submit essays to: Delta Waterfowl – Scott
