NH: Public Hearing November 7 on Proposed Snowmobile Weekend Reciprcocity Rules

CONCORD, N.H. — More good news may be in store for snowmobile
enthusiasts who enjoy the reciprocal Vermont-New Hampshire
snowmobile weekend in January. The New Hampshire Fish and Game
Department is proposing to expand reciprocity for that weekend to
include the state of Maine. A public hearing on the proposal is set
for Monday, November 7, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., at the New Hampshire
Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H. 03301.

The proposal would establish the fourth full weekend in January
as the period when all snowmobiles registered in Maine may ride any
trail in New Hampshire. The reciprocal weekend would include
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. N.H. Fish and Game’s intent is to
adopt this rule if Maine allows New Hampshire-registered
snowmobiles on all Maine snowmobile trails during the same weekend.
This is the same weekend during which there is already reciprocity
between New Hampshire and Vermont.

The complete rulemaking notices, with original and proposed rule
language, can be viewed on the Fish and Game website. Go to
